For local transportation the most common mode is Auto rickshaws and man powered cycle Rickshaws. Horse drawn Carriage or tangas and city buses are also popular mode of transportation. Recently the city administration has started a city bus service which is available on major routes. City transport is managed by Bilaspur City Bus Ltd. It runs buses on 4 routes connecting nook and corners of the city.

A new over bridge is planned from near Maharana Pratap Square to Mangla Chowk and is expected too start soon.
